North Florida Regional Medical Center is where we refer all of our patients for admission or emergency care. If medical problems cannot be managed in an out-patient setting, the hospitalists at NFRMC attend to our patients. At Primary Care Physicians of Gainesville, we focus our energies in our office setting, with the aim to keep patients healthy, prevent medical complications and contain costs. Care in the out-patient setting is always less costly than hospital care. But, some situations cannot be avoided. This is where H.I.M., Hospitalists Internal Medicine, have a pivotal role. Our relationship began with the inception of H.I.M. more than 15 years ago. They are our partners, working in tandem with all of our providers. If we need a patient admitted directly, they will accept the admission, possibly avoiding the emergency room. With the new triage and fast track in the emergency department at NFRMC, our patients that require emergency room evaluation and then admission will be seen by H.I.M. physicians. We maintain a continuity of care between our office and our hospitalists.
Our hospitalist partners are all board certified physicians in internal medicine.
