I spent my childhood growing up in South Jersey before moving to Ohio to do most of my higher education. I graduated from Wittenberg University and attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. I did my family medicine residency in Barberton, Ohio.
My special medical interests have been in rural medicine in underserved area. During my training, I attended three medical missionary trips to Santa Lucia, Honduras. In 1996, I left Ohio to spend the next 3 years working on the C.R.I.T Indian Reservation in western Arizona on the Colorado River. I then headed back to Ohio to a private practice in a rural community for five years. While in Gainesville for the past year, I have volunteered twice a month at the ACORN clinic. I recertified for my Family Practice Boards in 2003.
Since arriving in Gainesville, I have gotten married to Lawrence O’Toole. The O’Toole are the proud parents of a baby boy born in June 2006.
Dr. O’Toole is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
