Tier 2 – GatorCare

Finding a health care provider that is the perfect fit for you and your family is one of the most important things you can do.  It’s easy to become confused or overwhelmed when faced with so many insurance plan options, networks, deductibles, co-payments, and co-insurances.  We encourage you to contact your insurance company and speak with an agent regarding your particular health care plan and summary of your benefits, but would like to provide a few specifics regarding our connection with GatorCare.

Primary Care Physicians is proud to announce that we are in-network, Tier 2, healthcare providers with GatorCare. Actually, we want to remind everyone, because we have been Teir-2 providers since the inception of GatorCare.

GatorCare offers two different health care coverage’s for their employees, Prime Plus and Premium.  The plan you have choose determines your benefits and financial responsibility, but they both hold in-network and out-of-network providers categorized in Tiers 1, 2, and 3.

Tier 1 is the highest benefit level and most-cost effective level for the member(you), but it offers a more narrow network of designated providers that are within the UF/Shands system. Given the large population of GatorCare members within the UF/Shands community, the ability to obtain a timely appointment for care may be hindered.

Tier 2 benefits offer members the option to select a provider from the broader network of contracted providers, which can allow increased autonomy in choosing a health care provider of your choice, with an easier ability to schedule appointments, but at a slightly higher out of pocket expense. With Primary Care Physicians, your care is kept with a single provider, offering you continuity and personalize attention. We hold 15% of every day’s schedules for same day appointments, affording you the ability to “get in and get seen” by your provider.

Tier 3 benefits address the out-of-network providers as the highest cost option for covered services. Knowing that you can still “keep your doctor” is important to most patients that have had a long established history with one doctor or practice.

Primary Care Physicians has provided care for our community for over 25 years. So many of our patients also work within the UF/Shands system. They are our communities largest employer. Thankfully, UF/Shands recognized that it was best for their many employees to have the access to the primary care provider of their choice. We would love the opportunity to take you and your family members in as our patients.  When additional diagnostic services or specialized medical or surgical care is necessary, we will advocate and refer our patients back into the UF/Shands system ever mindful of a patient’s out-of-pocket costs.

We are taking new patients. Bring your health and medical care to a practice that focuses on you and your specific needs. Call for an appointment with Abigail Eley, DNP or Elizabeth Sanders, DO @ (352) 377-2022.
