Hypertension is estimated to affect seventy-six million individuals in the United States, and among those almost fifty percent are considered to have poorly managed hypertension. Uncontrolled hypertension has been associated with cardiovascular disease including myocardial infarction, as well as kidney disease and stroke. Are you interested in better managing your hypertension? Group visits are going to be held at the Primary Care Physicians of Gainesville where we focus on how to better manage high blood pressure and improve your health. Group visits consist of other men and women who also have high blood pressure. These group visits will be lead by a University of Florida ARNP student completing her doctoral research study.
During the group visit, education will be provided, your blood pressure will be checked, and you will have an opportunity to ask questions about blood pressure. The visits will encourage group discussion on what high blood pressure is, the treatment, and complications that can arise. There will be a few pre and post questionnaires that will measure your understanding of your high blood pressure and how it is managed.
There will be a total of three classes, held throughout the months of January and February. Please contact our office at 352-377-2022 to inquire about how to sign up to participate in these free educational opportunities.
