Questions After Hours

We recognize that you can have an emergency situation arise after hours. We will do our best to respond to your problem promptly and one of our physicians is on-call every night of the week. In the event of a severe situation, or one in which you are in doubt, go immediately to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. If the situation is not that severe, but one where you wish contact with your doctor, please telephone the office. The doctor will be in touch with you, either directly or through office personnel, to give you instructions on where to go for emergency care. If you call the health educator for your particular insurance company, understand that those phone calls and the information given to you is never transmitted to your provider. It is best to phone the physician on call.

Our physicians are on staff at North Florida Regional Medical Center. In an emergency situation, you should go to the closest hospital. We have an excellent relationship with the other area hospitals and will be able to obtain records for your follow-up care.

Primary Care Physicians of Gainesville shares the weekend emergency call with two other Family Practice groups in the Gainesville area.  The doctors in our weekend call group are: Elizabeth Sanders, D.O., Deena O’Toole, M.D., Julia Harris, M.D.; Kiona Subramanian, M.D.,  Rene’ LeePack, M.D., Michael Horseman, M.D., Brandon Bodlac, D.O., Eric Schraber, D.O., Ronald Jones, M.D., and Greg Geiger, M.D.

If you have an emergency which requires the on call physician over the weekend and reach our voicemail which tells you to hang up and call 372-7800 that means Family Practice Associates is taking call for our group that weekend.  Once you reach their office voicemail you can press any of the physician options and the doctor on call for their group will return your call.
